Molasses has 60 calories per Tspoon. It turns water coffee color okay but tasted way to sweet. Postum does have a little molasses. Wheat bran , wheat and molasses and Maltodextrin from corn. 10 calories per cup.

I sure would like to come up with something I did not have to buy at the store. I have some wild chicory here. Not much of a root I have seen. I buy bag of bran and it fairly cheap.

I have always loved to have a Victoria garden. I and my wife is trying to make a garden with colorful flowers. We are still processing with the brush right now so hopefully, we can have a beautiful garden in the future

Like Oonagh said, Victory Gardens came about during the World Wars as a way to encourage people to grow their own food. Do a Google search for "victory garden posters" and you will see just how serious the movement was.

It makes me sad to see how important such things were to the government at that time and just how far we are removed from the idea of growing what we need today. I've been called a gardening "expert" over the years and I have started more than one community garden in that time, but I am now a few months into my new life - starting a sustainable organic homestead farm on ten acres in Alabama.

After the failure of a garden I had over the summer (no time to prepare the field, new location, no amendments, etc), I will consider just about anything that grows to be a Victory Garden!

Poll

Are We Recovering Economically?

No, this is the last hurrah.

Not yet, but we will soon.

Maybe, it's too early to tell.

Yes, the recovery has begun and it's safe to invest again.

NO WAY, if you think Gold is "High" now, wait a few months.

Heh... do you have a bunker handy?
